It All Started with Cooper
Our story begins with Cooper, our spirited and sensitive Belgian Malinois. As we trained him, we hit two major roadblocks. First, his sensitive stomach reacted to nearly every commercial treat. Frustrated, we started making our own freeze-dried, single-ingredient raw treats. The clear winner? Freeze-dried cheese—a high-value reward that doesn't get mushy in your pocket.
Second, we saw how easily public attention could disrupt his focus during training. To create the space he needed, we designed and embroidered our own patches with clear messages like “In Training” and “Do Not Distract.” Soon, other handlers began asking where we got them, and a simple solution to our own problem sparked the idea for Humble Dog.

We are more than just a gear company; we are passionate advocates for the health, performance, and partnership of working dog teams. As I work toward my certification as a professional dog trainer—with credentials in the Mission Ready K9 Program and as a Canine Conditioning Fitness Coach—our focus is on the whole dog. We believe that preventing injury and improving strength is just as important as the gear they wear.
This commitment extends to our community. As a veteran-owned business, we are honoured to sponsor service dog teams through Veteran’s Elite Canines, a nonprofit that matches veterans with trained service dogs. Giving back to those who have served is deeply personal to us, and we proudly provide custom Humble Dog patches for each graduating team.
